The Cure’s Drug Induced Nightmare

by User ImageAmbient Decay on November 29th, 2007

I spy something beginning with S…….

On candy stripe legs

the spiderman comes
Softly through the shadow of the evening sun
Stealing past the windows of the blissfully dead
Looking for the victim shivering in bed

Searching out fear

in the gathering gloom

and suddenly a movement in the corner of the room!
And there is nothing I can do
And I realize with fright
That the spiderman is having me for dinner tonight!

Quietly he laughs and shaking his head
Creeps closer now
Closer to the foot of the bed
And softer than shadow and quicker than flies
His arms are around me and his tongue in my eyes
“Be still be calm be quiet now my precious boy
Don’t struggle like that or I will only love you more”
But it’s much too late to get away or turn on the light
The spiderman is having you for dinner tonight

And I feel like I’m being eaten
By a thousand million shivering furry holes…
And I know that in the morning I will wake up
In the shivering cold

The spiderman is always hungry…

“Come into my parlour”, said the spider to the fly… “I have something here for you”

The Cure is one of the great bands that have been around for years and years. Even though they are not considered to be industrial, The Gothic Genre of music is so closely related to industrial music that it will always have a place on Industrial Addiction to call home.

This glorious song is called Lullaby and has always been a favorite among listeners of this band. Many others have had this song confused with APC (A Perfect Circle) at times. Many have believed this song to be about drugs, whores, and any other activity that is comprised of most older 80’sbands.

Though most know it isn’t. It’s about a nightmare some say and used the Music Video to further rectify their legitimacy. I guess neither party has had a drug trip go wrong. Nasty dreams and feelings a person can have when a trip goes bad.

So with that being said I would just like to say… “DRUGS ARE BAD MMMMMKAY?!”

Hah I couldn’t resist. So if you enjoy APC or are just getting into The Cure, I highly recommend this song.

As Always, Here is A Fix.
