Industrial Addiction

Placebo. Not Quite Rock, Not Quite Industrial.

by User ImageAmbient Decay on August 2nd, 2007

This band is considered to be the “Glam Rock” of Nirvana but with their song, Post Blue I believe they have a taste for what can be related to industrial. It would be more geared toward that of Synth-Pop but still, the roots are there.

Most of their songs are derived from the styles of U2, Weezer, and David Bowie. The band has done a few cover songs from Depeche Mode, which is a start into getting into the whole industrial scene and the closely related styles of Synth-Pop, Dark Wave, EBM , and Gothic.

The band is comprised of a few British members but only one is a full fledged Brit. The U.K. has seen this band on tour for many years, but as far as the U.S. goes, we are sadly being missed. Soon hopefully the band will grace the U.S. with its presence and give a ‘Shock and Awe” if you will with their tell-tale rumors of a spectacular show.

I would love to see this band up close and personal to see what they really have to offer their listeners. So far they have a great sound and a pretty good group of avid listeners. Not to mention an ability, if they so choose to utilize it, to produce some very eargasmical Synth-pop.

I recommend getting their CD album Meds and rocking out to “Post Blue!”
