Schattenreich Vol. 5: Sampler CD/DVD

As you will soon see, this is a HUGE Album and glancing at the tracks makes my wreath in anticipation for its release! Even though I and probably just as many of you, may have these songs, to have them all on one Album is even better.

Not to mention it saves us from making it ourselves :P So Since this is such an extensive listing for songs, I’m just going to get down to ‘brass tacks’ and give you the tracks!

Enjoy!

Prussia Records Welcomes Alice in Videoland! (Lucky SOB’s)

Prussia Records are proud to welcome one of the most exciting Scandinavian bands in their roster: Alice in Videoland. According to first sensational press reactions, the forthcoming album ‘She’s a Machine‘ will shake continents, ears, minds, and club floors!

No other act of the past years has brought more fresh wind, power, and freakiness to the music market than Alice in Videoland! I’m surprised Prussia Records isn’t still shaking from their knees and grinning with selfish delight to have this extremely well known band on their roster.

I know I would be and I’d let everyone know, no matter if it was 1 am!

Special-Limited-Split Release! This is a MUST HAVE Album!

Special-limited-split release for Unheilig and the two acts that opened their shows on the band’s recent, triumphant, German Puppenspiel Tour! This album release was initially available at the shows only, but it is now available in a limited quantity to a wider audience. Mainly the audiences (like me) that were not able to go to one, or all, of the gigs!

De\Vision - Obsolete Lyrics

The dragon heart
For what has once been you there’s nothing left now
Got to bow down
You’re torn apart
Seem to be here but yet you’re fading away
Silent decay

How Ready Are You?

Behind the scenes of my daily writings I have been completely immersed into a specific sound for these past few months. Mind you this isn’t a sound that is heard everyday nor can it be heard everyday. The sound that is being referred to is a sound that is created from none other than a band. What is even more astonishing and exotic is the fact the band is indie! This band’s sound can only be expressed as something so rare, so unbelievably addicting and leaves you wanting more out of shear ecstasy; some have wondered what took so long for its appearance.

On that note, I leave Nikki Difranco of the Hi-Fi Concert Club with the introduction.

Portishead - ‘Third’

Portishead returns from a ten-year hiatus with eleven new tracks that are sure to please long-time fans, and newcomers alike. In the early 1990s, before triphop was even given a name, Portishead was right there in the fray, defining this new genre, amongst the ranks of Massive Attack, Tricky, and others. But Portishead’s take was different still: Unlike many of their contemporaries, they fused jazz, house, and ethereal sounds into their work, broadening their audience appeal. Alternative rockers, electronic ravers, and classic breakbeat enthusiasts all took to their sound. In recent years, the music industry has watched Gnarls Barkley, The Gorillaz, and others follow their lead - and thrive. Released on Universal.

1. Silence
2. Hunter
3. Nylon Smile
4. The Rip
5. Plastic
6. We Carry On
7. Deep Water
8. Machine Gun
9. Small
10. Magic Doors
11. Threads

Music Lovers and OurStage

Web 2.0 is all about “Relationship Networking” and basically building a circle of friends on a virtual ground known as a web site. That’s all Web 2.0 no matter what anyone else says. Frankly, this thing has been in the making for years and I still think we have yet to see its peak. So many new sites and domain are popping up now its extremely hard to keep up. Let along remember all the passwords and user names for all of the sites your friends, family and you find when browsing that glorious fiber-optic highway known as the Internet.

Though some do stand out and the reason they do, is because they add something different to an already explosive and highly saturated experience. Though it can be hard at times to find these sites in the midst of it all, there is one that is so small in topic yet the crowd it is gathering is enormous… and for good reason. The site is known as OurStage and it is devoted entirely to Indie Music and what the FANS have to say.

Yes that means you folks. Read More

Emilie Autumn ‘Laced/Unlaced’

Just barely a breath after the worldwide success of “Opheliac”, EMILIE AUTUMN emerges yet again from her studio she calls “The Asylum” with her latest work, “Laced / Unlaced”, a Double Disc set featuring, no, not her voice, but her violin skills. Disc 1, “Laced,” represents her past, containing the worldwide release of EMILIE AUTUMN’s rare teenage classical violin recordings including works by Corelli, Bach, and EMILIE AUTUMN’s originals, all performed on period instruments with lute, harpsichord, and baroque cello accompaniment. Disc 2, “Unlaced,” represents her future, in an electric-violin, Yngwie-meets-Paganini-styled romp. Written in the “Victoriandustrial”, harpsichord-laden Gothic style of “Opheliac” but with a metal edge, “Laced / Unlaced” shows the evolution from child prodigy classical violinist to reigning queen of metal Gothic / Industrial violin, and beckons us ever deeper into EMILIE AUTUMN’s strange world with a flick of her black-nail-polished fingers. Synthetic Dream Foundation and Mythical Records!

Industrial/IDM project The Synthetic Dream Foundation has released its latest album, ‘Behind the Gates of Horn and Ivory‘, from Mythical Records.  The album ‘Behind the Gates of Horn and Ivory‘ is the first album released by The Synthetic Dream Foundation in two years, as member Brett Branning, from other bands such as Abandoned Toys and Ephemeral Mists, has focused on various side projects.

It would be great to hear more of The Synthetic Dream Foundation but we can’t always get what we want. The band hasn’t produced that many songs compared to other Industrial acts, but never the less, they are still a band to be reckoned with.

This latest release should further show that Brent and the gang are still working on wowing their fans with excellent music.

Tracklisting:

  1. They who Breathe Darkness
  2. O’ dead armoured sky
  3. Eine dunkle spharische widerstand
  4. Eternity’s poisoned drapes
  5. Among the angels’ debri
  6. Eine schone ruine
  7. Formless Beasts
  8. Hammers out of the unutterable palace
  9. Construction of the underworld
