Director Michel Gondry, who made a name for himself making music videos for the likes of Chemical Brothers, Björk, Daft Punk and others, has compiled a list of 25 music videos that you should see, and it’s got some classics:
Nine Inch Nails has released another interesting bit of Internet media for its most recent release, ‘The Slip‘.
They plotted the downloads of the album onto Google Earth, so you can browse interactively and see where the Nine Inch Nails fans are:
“We’ve had just over 1,400,000 people download The Slip from our site since its release May 5th (that number represents individual people, and excludes multiple downloads from the same order), and this map displays ONLY downloads that came directly from us.”
Nine Inch Nails is doing some pretty awesome stuff and exploring a lot of interesting ways to use Internet media to promote their music. Honestly they images created were ‘Eye Candy’ to me and I have always loved how Trent comes up with so many unique ways to visually promote his music. I’m not saying this was all Trent’s doing and I also want to say “ROCK ON” to the mates who helped him create these images.
Yeah they are just pictures, but they are about his music, and that is what makes them so exciting.

As of June 17th, 2008 Costanza invites fans to download ‘Sonic Diary‘ from iTunes, eMusic and Amazon.com. The artist, who was last heard on a full length on Tricky’s 2003 album ‘Vulnerable‘, has been collecting inspiration from a wide variety of societal issues including immigration, dependency on medicine, longing in relationships and women’s rights.

On a quick note for the Swedish industrial act Autodafeh has announced its debut album, ‘Hunt for Glory‘, will be released in North America July 15th from Sigsaly Transmissions. You can check out more from this band at the Autodafeh Myspace Page (which their sound reminds me a lot of Combichrist and a few of their samples do sound the same, just a warning.)
