Monday Insight
The latest album by Edge of Dawn really pisses me off. Alright now I know not everyone loves Mondays but sheesh, Edge of Dawn must have created their upcoming album, Borderline Black Heart, on nothing but Mondays. Don’t get me wrong, Edge of Dawn is a great band and I have been an avid listener since my teen years, but Christ, take a look at the tracklist and tell me what is wrong:
01. Black Heart (Alpha)
02. Split Second (Undertow)
03. Descent(Fractured Remix)
04. Second
05. Black Heart (Coeur Triste)
06. Kiss or Kill (Featuring Charlene April)
07. The Nightmare I Am (Stromkern Remix)
08. Black Heart (Beta)
Hrm. Is this what industrial is coming to? Yes remix’s by other bands and contemplation CD’s are excellent but since when does an album need the song 3 times on it? The song is good, but not that flipping good. Not to mention if you need to put out the song in 3 different formats, normally that would mean “IT’S NOT READY”.
What makes this even more annoying is they are ruining the song. It’s been out for awhile, people enjoy it AS IS, now they put it on their NEW album 3 times. Is this a sad joke or pun coming from the band? Perhaps they messed up with the tracklist (Yeah right). Oh I know, they didn’t have enough tracks put make a new album without putting up these remixes (Come on it’s only 8 songs long.)
This band has so many other songs that it just comes across as pure laziness to put multiples of the same song. Did I mention they all practically sound the same?
-3 points for lack of ingenuity
-5 points for making BETA the last remix
+1 point for having a Stromkern Remix (love that band)
So this -7 out of -10 score means the band should have been backhanded with the album and sent back in to redo it.
Jerks.
