Krischan Wesenburg Revisits Glis and The Lucky Number is 15.
3 years after the “Nemesis” album Glis returns with “Glis 2001-2008 a shot and a bassline, the revisited collection“. This Cd isn’t exactly a ‘Best Of’ album and it isn’t entirely just a remix album because, as the topic states, the lucky number of 15 tracks have been re-cut, re-mastered, and re-done by [Drum roll please]…
Krischan Wesenberg of Rotersand.
To further explain what’s really going on and for it to be said in no better way, I leave it up to the quotes following…
Shaun Frandsen from Glis explains:
“Wesenberg rearranged the songs, used some parts from one song and cuts from others, adding overdubs to the re-edits, new beat elements, additional sequences, effects and filtering; basically making every track different from the original recordings.”
Krischan Wesenberg adds:
“The ‘re-works’ I did on the Glis tracks wouldn’t have been termed a ‘remix’ in today’s dance-floor culture. When you see ‘remix’ printed on the sleeve of a record, you mostly expect to hear a version which is very different from the original. Often you will find the vocal line on another track…”
