Juno Reactor - Shango - Pistolero
Juno Reactor’s Pistolero has been out for awhile but it hasn’t lost its thrill. Old and new rivetheads, gothics, and ravers alike all get lost in the screaming, explosions, and intoxicating cords of the Spanish guitar. Though some say that this Juno Reactor song isn’t industrial due to the fact that a guitar is present through out the entire song, I full heartily disagree. Bands such as Ministry, Combichrist, and even the Cure, had guitar solos through out their songs; some more than others.
Industrial isn’t just about songs that lack a guitar and use only electronic equipment to make music. It is so much more than that, especially in today’s world. Though industrial music did derive from the ideal of using synthesizers and other electronic equipment to make ear pleasing noises, times change and so does music.
This song gives a luxurious blend of both industrial, Synth-pop, and the classic styling of the guitar masters of old such as Slash from Guns ‘N’ Roses or Jimi Hendrix. Well, that’s if they played the Spanish guitar. All this is witnessed right off the bat with this songs intro.
Opening with a slow and relaxing guitar rift that makes any music lover want to listen in. It is then followed with a female simply saying “I Hate Robbing Banks!” All Hell breaks loose after hearing those 4 simple and sultry said words. Explosions, Pistol Fire, Machine Guns explode the ear drums and lead into a great industrial beat that can only be brought from that of Juno Reactor. Though Juno is known for intense beats, this one isn’t so hardcore but it is very eargasmically good. It will leave a listener wanting to listen to the song over and over again.
On a final note, I do recommend listening to this song in a tub surrounded by candle light. This is not only a relaxing tune but also can be very invigorating; As well as addicting.
