Industrial Addiction

How Ready Are You?

by Ambient Decay on June 4th, 2008

Behind the scenes of my daily writings I have been completely immersed into a specific sound for these past few months. Mind you this isn’t a sound that is heard everyday nor can it be heard everyday. The sound that is being referred to is a sound that is created from none other than a band. What is even more astonishing and exotic is the fact the band is indie! This band’s sound can only be expressed as something so rare, so unbelievably addicting and leaves you wanting more out of shear ecstasy; some have wondered what took so long for its appearance.

On that note, I leave Nikki Difranco of the Hi-Fi Concert Club with the introduction.

In an industry where all bands are beginning to sound alike, Margin of Error has managed to rise above the ‘copycatism’ and has achieved a sound uniquely their own. I would put Margin of Error high on my list I would recommend booking. They always put on an amazing show filled with talent and energy. I have never been disappointed in any way when working with Margin. They are among the most generous, and respectful people I have had the pleasure of working with.”

At first this indie band was extremely hard to categorize since they can and still do remind so many listeners of other unique sounds and emotion from other bands. It then became clear to many on where they have heard Margin of Error’s similar but not quite familiar sound.

Not since the early days of Skinny Puppy’s cEvin Key and Nivek Ogre has talent such as the band Margin of Error struck the face of industrial music with such promise.”

- Ally Melling from “The Kent Stater”, article “Industrial band moves into its next era.” Issue date 12/7/06

Margin of Error’s recently released album ‘Destroy, Create, Repeat’, has left many industrial lovers and even some heavy metal evangelists floored. If you are looking for an industrial album that is mellow and simplistic, you would do well to stay away from this pulse throbbing assault of distorted voices, body quaking heavy beats, and a style of mixing that hasn’t been heard since the days of now well known and sought after band; Combichrist.

The duo, Trav15 and Vo1d, are the hearts, souls, and minds behind this rising spectacle called Margin of Error, and with their album ‘Destroy, Create, Repeat’, they have not only brought back the rare root sounds of industrial but have catapulted it forward in such a way that will leave you writhing in your seat with anticipation for their next album.

This killer new project mixes industrial music of the most dancy and most intriguing with a great amount of diversity. The sound includes metal and rhythmic noise style which really makes each track an interesting and memorable one.”

- DSBP Records Review of “Head Reconnect”

Musically, this indie and very alternative band seems to only be limited to the borders of their minds, which seems to be almost limitless compared to many other acts found in the industrial, alternative, and indie genres. With that being said, don’t be surprised if in the near future you start to see Margin of Error create some remixes of the top bands as well as see them touring with these head acts across the globe; I know I wont be.

Upon hearing their latest album ‘Destroy.Create.Repeat‘, I was frankly devoid of words at the time to express this bands sound and energy. I wanted to fully express how this band sounds and what their songs give off but with more flare then by just saying they are “unique”. Granted they are, but once you have listened to some of their tracks, you will know that just saying they are unique wouldn’t be doing them justice.

This band, my friends, is one of those rarities that you MUST listen to in order to grasp the utter beauty of their songs. So much for ’seeing is believing’. It’s more like “Hearing is believing”.

As Always. Here is a Fix.

    What do you mean really?

Are you saying that this band doesn’t belong in this genre or are you stating that the band’s sound isn’t what industrial lovers would enjoy based on a certain age bracket?

Sorry to have your comment late on appearing. My filter marked them as spam but I slapped it and took away some treats, so you should be able to post without fear of the filter!

    again sorry about that!
