EBMfest 2008 Updates

EBMfest is a huge event that takes place every year and the EBMfest 2007 had Rotersand as their headliner. Now this years EBMfest was very disappointing and it wasn’t due to the bands vocal ability live. What happened was the headliner, Rotersand, up and CANCLED. WHAT THE HELL MATES?!
Rotersand is a very talented group but why the fuck would you cancel at THIS FEST? I sat here bitching about it and then Rotersand gave us insight to why the cancelation occurred:
“Dear friends of Rotersand,
I apologize that our shows in
at such short notice. But my current state of health did not allow me
to join you in
time I had to cancel a show and I hope it will be the last time.
What had happened?
On the way to
immediate medical attention. According to the doctor it was caused by
a mix of intestinal infection, lack of sleep, stress and my usual fear
of travelling in a plane (which unfortunately means an extra portion
of stress to me).
It is tough for me to cope with the fact that I have imposed
additional strain on the people who organized the shows and caused
disappointment to those who expected us to play. But even though
Rotersand is not able to join you as a whole band, I am sure that you
will have a great time, listening to Krischan & Stefan DJing and all
the other great bands playing for you. I also heard that Krischan and
Stefan (Dependent) will give away free Rotersand discs at the evening
to make up for the cancellation. .
I feel sad and so very sorry for not being able to be with you.

I hope Rasc gets better soon and invests in some knock out pills for future plane rides. It’s a tough job to be a musician and some people forget that fact. I’m guilty of that at times too when I get my hopes up to see a band for the first time in years.
Here is an update on the EMBfest 2008, from Sophia herself.
“Hello folks
This is a heads up for those of you that purchased tickets to attend
EBMfest 2007 this year….
I realize there was alot of disappointed fans as a result of the last
minute cancellation of the headliner from this year’s bill. And while
it would be irresponsible for me to offer free entry to any kind of
future Rotersand show in the Toronto area as this is unconfirmed, we
at EBM Promotions do appreciate the support and return patronage of
all those who attend the EBMfest event. Consequently, it has been
decided amongst the collective that complimentary passes to EBMfest
2008 will be issued to all those that purchased tickets to this year’s
EBMfest 2007 event.
All the online ticket purchases are archived so all details of
purchaser are at hand. Proof of identity and if so inclined, purchase
must be presented at doors to receive the number of passes equal to
tickets bought for EBMfest 2007.
As for all the door sales and outlet sales only ticket numbers have
been archive, so proof of purchase in the form of ticket stub or
ticket number/location is required to obtain a pass to ebmfest 2008 at
the doors. So hopefully those that did purchase tickets by this means
are able to obtain and keep information about their purchase to get a
pass for ebmfest 2008.
Plans for ebmfest 2008 will commence in january 2008 and once the line
up is completely confirmed will the website be updated and complete
details will be announced. And unlike this year’s Ebmfest, the line
up will be expanded to include a couple of favourite bands that I am
sure will not disappoint. Definitely looking forward to planning
ebmfest 2008 and will definitely post details of this notice online
once the site is updated.

information in order to take advantage of this limited offer. My
apologies for being quite late about the posting. Massive computer
problems and some late announcements were partly cause for the delay.
